For so many years, I believed sharing your expertise, your work, or leading others meant you had to show up in a certain way, be visible everywhere, have specific Management status to lead others, and this only happens as something you earned and had to be valued and qualified to do.
I was brainwashed to believe that I: -
Needed more credentials.
More clarity.
More confidence.
A more polished message.
A better website.
Only then would I be ready to step forward and lead with my Legacy Work.
What I’ve come to realize is that waiting to feel “ready” is often the very thing keeping us from the experiences that would help us grow.
Growth doesn’t happen before we begin. It happens because we decide to begin and take that next step.
The women I admire most aren’t the ones who had everything figured out before they started. They’re the ones who trusted themselves enough to take the next step before they had all the answers.
That’s one of the reasons I built my customised WebApp called The Contribution Compass.
Not because I have everything perfectly mapped out.
Not because I know exactly where every step will lead.
But because I believe your unique Contribution has to be seen, recognised and experienced by ‘Your People’.
When we share our experiences, perspectives, gifts, and questions, something shifts. We stop sitting on the sidelines of our own lives and step into active participation.
We remember that our voice matters.
We remember that leadership isn’t about perfection.
If you’ve been waiting until you’re more polished, more prepared, or more certain before allowing yourself to be seen, I hope this serves as a gentle reminder:
You don’t need to arrive before you begin.
You simply need to trust yourself enough to take the next aligned step.
